A central bare-chested man with brown hair and beard sits draped in pale blue cloth, his arms showing a visible wound and his hands resting together. Beside him is an older man with a long gray beard wearing an ornate red and gold headpiece and dark green and red robes, one arm wrapped around the younger man. Several cherubic children with curly reddish or blond hair surround them, some with small wings and one holding a crown of thorns, another leaning on the older man, and one at the lower left wearing yellow cloth and small green wings. The palette includes flesh tones, teal, dark green, red, gold, pale blue, white, and brown, and the whole composition is framed by a worn wooden frame.
