Behind them a bearded man in a dark robe with fur trim and a heavy chain leans on the back of the chair with one hand on his head and the other extended toward the woman. To the right, a heavy curtain is being held aside by an armored soldier in metallic breastplate and helmet, while another armored figure stands partly hidden behind the curtain; the visible soldier wears dark green trousers and bright red stockings with tan shoes and rests a hand on a sword at his side. To the left of the seated figures a table holds an open book and a standing crucifix, and a string of dark beads hangs from the woman’s hand. The floor is stone with a large brown fur rug and a small metallic object lying on it. The scene includes colors such as dark brown, deep red, black, tan, green, purple, light beige, and metallic gray.
