Portrait of Stefan Czarniecki 1599–1665, Crown Field Hetman, against the background of tents and a battle, unknown painter. Against the background of two round white-gray tents the first with a decorative lambrequin and a tuft on top, its flaps parted, in the dark interior a high table with S-shaped legs draped with red fabric. In the left foreground an old bald man with a short gray beard and mustache stands three-quarters to the right. He holds a baton in his right hand and with his left points to the battle raging in the background on the right. His face is oval with a high forehead; his blue eyes look directly at the viewer, his nose is prominent and slightly convex, his beard and mustache are closely cropped. He is dressed in a dark blue zupan with a red knee-length delia trimmed with brown fur at the neck, lapels, wide sleeves and hem, and wears high yellow leather boots. A saber hilt is visible at his left side. The battle scene shows a tangled crowd of horsemen before a bright brick castle with a single round tower burning from above; the sky is blue obscured by white smoke. 18th century, Poland, painting; height 310 cm, width 176 cm., A full-length painted portrait of an older man standing indoors near a tent, wearing a long red coat with dark trim and decorative gold braiding over a dark undergarment, holding a decorative mace in one hand and gesturing with the other; he has a bald head, a short white beard, and a composed expression. Behind him is a large ornate tent with draped fabric in muted beige and gray tones and gold decoration, and to the right a distant scene showing a group of mounted and foot figures and a structure with flames, rendered in brown, gray, and ochre hues. The floor and foreground are painted in deep brown and muted red tones, and the entire scene is enclosed in a gold frame.
