Tiled clock, Betzmeier, Erasmus fl. ca. 1750 clockmaker, acanthus ornament, lion's paws, mid-18th century, Warsaw, timepiece, height 8 cm, width 12.8 cm, An ornate hexagonal metal object with a hinged top opened to reveal an intricate inner mechanism; the top interior is a brass-colored plate with decorative filigree elements, small dark screws, and engraved ornamental parts, while the outer edges of the lid show areas of darker tarnish and worn spots in brownish tones. The base is a darker silver-gray metal bowl set into a square platform with rounded corners, supported by four short, ball-shaped feet with carved swirl patterns and a patina of dark gray and brown. The visible colors include brass yellow, silver-gray, dark gray, brown, and hints of black on small fasteners and shadowed recesses.
