Casket case, gift, Maria Kazimiera Queen of Poland; 1641–1716, Strzalecki, Antoni Jan 1844–1934. The case is a rectangular wooden box covered with red velvet, with gold thread trimmings on the edges. The crosspieces have bronze openwork overlays. The side walls have gilded bronze handles; the top has a decorative central overlay with a rank crown. The front has a decorative overlay serving as a lock plate; the keyhole is preserved. The interior is lined with light green silk. Early 19th century; 18th century, Italy, Florence. Chest; height 39.5 cm, width 56.7 cm, depth 47.5 cm., A rectangular wooden box covered in red fabric with a worn surface and trimmed with dark textured edging; a group of ornate gold decorative metal appliques adorn the corners and center of the top and sides, and there are a few gold ring handles on the visible side; the box shows signs of wear with scuffs and faded areas on the red fabric, and the background is a smooth neutral gray.
