Jewel box, pietra dura technique. Jewel box made of blackened wood, partly ebony, cuboid with chamfered corners supported on four gilded bronze volute legs decorated with a mascaron at the base; the edge of the base and the edge of the lid with profiled ebony strips. Decorated on the side walls with six mosaic reserves and one plaque on the lid: front and back two panels with two fruits on a branch; sides one panel each with three fruits on a branch and an insect at the bottom. Corners with cast gilded bronze garlands topped with medusa masks and plastic fruits of semi-precious stones 7 pieces each. Hinged, profiled lid with a large plate showing three fruits on branches tied with a sash, an insect at the top; side walls with gilded bronze garlands with plastic fruits; corners with gilded bronze shells; front with a preserved key hole. Dated to the early 18th century early 18th century, Florence?, Italy?. Chest; height 34.5 cm, width 41.5 cm, depth 50.5 cm., A decorative rectangular box with an octagonal top and dark polished wooden panels is shown resting on a neutral gray surface, adorned with ornate gold metal mounts at the corners and feet; a garland of polished stone beads and carved leaves in colors including red, orange, pink, purple, green, white, and amber runs across the top and down the sides, and the top panel features an inlaid dark blue panel with oval stone cabochons and green leaf motifs surrounded by a gold frame, while the front panels display similar oval inlays with round polished stones and green leaves set against contrasting dark and colorful backgrounds.
