One of two panoplies flanking the model of the monument of Jan III Sobieski. 18th century, Poland. Tile; height 26.0 cm, width 16.5 cm., A weathered sculptural relief of a shielded emblem with a textured turban-like form at the top, flanked by draped cloth and curled ribbons, all carved in a worn surface showing layers of muted green, faded red, and grayish-beige paint; a round, disc-like object rests near the lower left of the shield, and the whole composition sits on a rectangular base, with visible chipping and flaking revealing underlying material.
