Tin-mounted tankard, Prószków Slaski faience factory 1763–1853. White cylindrical tankard in a pewter mount. On the front is a depiction of an obese musician playing a double bass, shown in vigorous movement. The musician is dressed in a yellow jacket, purple pantaloons, and a lilac hat with a yellow brim. Floral sprigs on the sides. On the tin cover engraved CGH/1811. Late 18th century. Province of Silesia 1742–1918; Silesia; Prószków Slaski. Vessel; height 24.0 cm, width 15.0 cm, depth 9.5 cm., A tall ceramic tankard with a metal hinged lid and metal base is shown upright against a pale gray background; the tankard body is off-white with a smooth finish and a glossy surface, a single curved handle is attached to the front, and a small painted floral decoration in shades of pink and green appears on one side; the metal lid, hinge, and base are a dull pewter gray with a rounded finial on top, and there are slight signs of wear and subtle discoloration where the metal meets the ceramic.
