Cylindrical tankard in a pewter frame, Prószków Slaski faience factory; 1763–1853. White, painted in colors. From the front, a depiction of a barefoot woman sitting under a tree, her blouse unbuttoned revealing her breasts. The woman, head turned to the right, supports with her right hand a small child, dressed in a short T-shirt, running towards her from the left. It can be interpreted as an allegorical representation of Maternitas motherhood. The representation is painted with some freedom. Late 18th century, Silesia Province of Silesia. Vessel; height 24.0 cm, width 15.0 cm, depth 10.5 cm., A ceramic tankard with a hinged metal lid is shown against a pale gray background; the tankard is mostly white with metal rim and base in a dull gray, and a matching metal lid that is open, showing the interior metallic surface. The body features a painted scene in soft colors including green, pink, blue, yellow, and flesh tones depicting a seated woman and a child by a tree with foliage and grassy ground; there is a handle on the side that is white with some brownish wear. The lid hinge and handle attachment are visible, and the overall object shows subtle signs of age with slight discoloration and small spots on the white surface.
