Snuffbox tin, Koenigliche Porzellain Fabrique, Meissen 1710–1763. Tall rectangular snuffbox with rounded corners and a flatly arched lid bound in metal gilt silver?, hinged. Around the edges of the side walls, lid, and bottom are gilded rocaille frames for colorful miniatures with animal fairy tales: 1 a squirrel and a pug in a bonnet and cape, smoking pipes and drinking coffee, with a landscape and architecture in the background; 2 a dog as a hunter, with a pipe and two hares on a leash, with a landscape background; 3 drunken animals feasting at a table with a pulled tablecloth: a goose, a wild boar, and a fox, with a landscape background; 4 a parrot on a pole beside a cage, with a landscape background. In the reserves on the side walls are miniature waterside landscapes. Inside the lid is a colorful miniature portrait: a young lady in a cape, half-length, against beige drapery partially obscuring a column; painted in pastel colors in a pointillist style, 3rd quarter of the 18th century, Saxony, Meissen porcelain haberdashery snuffbox. Dimensions: height 5.3 cm, width 9 cm, depth 6.4 cm., A small rectangular porcelain box with rounded corners and a thin metallic rim sits against a neutral gray background, showing a painted scene on its lid featuring anthropomorphic animals dressed in garments; a group of figures including an animal in a purple shawl, another in a blue cloak holding a bottle, and a reclining figure draped in white are arranged under a tree with green and purple foliage, with additional landscape elements like a wooden fence and greenery. The lid is decorated with delicate gold scrollwork around the painted scene. Visible colors include white, gray, gold, purple, blue, green, brown, and a few pinkish tones.
