Function: court fanfare Naturtrompete belonging to the fanfare complex of the office of the main marshal of the court Oberhofmarschallamt. Engraved inscription above the edge decoration: AUGUSTUS III rex Pol. El. Sax. et SRI Vicarius and the date Ao 1745 and number No. 11. No builder's signature or goldsmith's mark on this piece. Note: piece attributed to a set of six instruments made by Riedel and goldsmith Heinrich Christian Ingelman, with dates 1745 engraved. Date: 1745. Place: Saxony. Dimensions: height 68.6 cm; width 11.3 cm; depth 11.3 cm., A tall metallic wind instrument with a curved top and an elongated flared bell stands vertically against a plain light gray background, showing a combination of silver and gold tones; the instrument consists of several slender tubes connected by ornate ribbed and banded sections with decorative carved motifs, a rounded bulbous joint near the middle, and an elaborately embossed flared bell rim with floral and leafy relief, the surface reflecting light and casting a faint mirrored reflection on the glossy surface below.
