Court fanfare of Augustus III, made by Christian Friedrich Riedel instrument builder, with coats of arms of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth and Saxony; musical instrument Naturtrompete belonging to the fanfare complex of the office of the main marshal of the court Oberhofmarschallamt. Engraved inscription on the edge: AUGUSTUS III rex Pol. El. Sax. et SRI Vicarius — the coat of arms of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth and Saxony on the chest of the imperial eagle under a crown; above it the date Ao 1745 and No. 11. No builder's signature, no goldsmith's mark. According to correspondence, it comes from a set of six instruments made by Riedel and goldsmith Heinrich Christian Ingelman with dates 1745 engraved. Related fanfares include pieces dated c.1750–1753 by various makers and one from 1825 by Eschenbach; two further fanfares from the series c.1750 bear numbers 18 and 19. Date: 1745. Place: Saxony. Dimensions: height 68.6 cm, width 11.3 cm, depth 11.3 cm., The image shows a slender metallic object with a central long horn-like tube flanked by two parallel curved tubes forming a tripod-like structure, all standing upright on a rounded ornate base; the metal appears silvery with several decorative gold-colored fittings and carved patterns, and the background is a smooth light gray.
