Embossed and colorfully painted decoration with four medallions against a rococo latticework: a miniature portrait of Tsar Alexander II in ceremonial military uniform with epaulettes and a blue ribbon, the Tsar's monogram, and the Tsar's double-headed eagle. Gilded floral and plant elements; a gap at the base and worn gilding. 1869, St. Petersburg, Russia. Porcelain vessel; height 49.5 cm, width 22 cm., A decorative porcelain vessel and its separate lid are shown against a plain gray background; the vessel is predominantly white with extensive gold ornamentation and includes a painted circular portrait on its bulbous body surrounded by a gilded frame, while the neck and foot feature raised white relief details and gilt accents; the separate lid echoes the same white and gold scheme with scalloped and beaded textures.
