At the bottom, Paris, lost in thought. 19th/20th century. Staffordshire, Stoke-on-Trent, England. Vase. Height 26.6 cm; width 19 cm., A dark vase with a flared rim and a single ornate handle rising from the neck sits against a plain gray background; the vase is primarily black with raised white reliefs depicting classical figures and architectural elements, including a seated draped figure holding a staff, a standing partially draped male figure, a stylized bearded mask hanging below the neck, floral motifs, and column-like forms, with contrasts of black and white tones throughout.
