Man with a Potato Masher, Reinicke, Peter 1715–1768 modeler?, Koenigliche Porzellain Fabrique, Meissen 1710–1763 manufacturer, figurine. On a flat, circular pedestal with rocaille merging into a tree trunk stands a young man leaning on the trunk at waist level. In contrapposto, head turned to the right, he holds a short oval board with a handle—an instrument for stewing potatoes—resting on his right shoulder. Dressed in trousers with colorful thin stripes tied loosely at the waist with a belt, black shoes with a buckle, a short green jacket with box pleats, a pink waistcoat with gold braiding, and a soft cap similar to a nightcap. Ca. 1755; Meissen, Saxony. Figurine, height 13.5 cm., A small porcelain figurine of a standing person wearing a white head covering with a faint pink stripe, a green jacket, and baggy white trousers with vertical stripes in purple, orange, and blue, holding a brown object over one shoulder and leaning against a white textured support, standing on a white base with small green and yellow painted details and dark brown shoes, set against a plain gray background.
