Winter — Allegory. Meissen porcelain factory Koenigliche Porzellain Fabrique, Meissen, ca. mid-18th century 1710–1763. Porcelain figurine, seasons allegory: winter. On a flat, quadrangular pedestal stands an old naked, barefoot bearded man in contrapposto, covered with a fur-lined cloak, a horn thrown over his head flowing down his back and held by the other horn in his left hand at hip level. He leans slightly to the side, warming his right hand over a cauldron with a flame at his feet. Saxony; Meissen. Height: 11.5 cm., A small porcelain figurine of a bearded male figure standing with a draped cloak, shown against a plain grey background; the figure's skin is glossy white, the cloak and drapery show shades of brown and dark brown with some reddish tones, the beard and hair are greyish, and there are touches of beige and muted pink on the face and limbs; the base and a small nearby vessel are off-white and grey with hints of beige, and a few darker brown accents appear where the cloak folds.
