Lock plate, ca. 1750. Brass furniture fitting, height 9 cm, width 9.8 cm, thickness 1 cm. Decoration: crowns, Saxony electoral/Wettyn coat of arms, coat of arms of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, plant decoration., A decorative metallic ornament with a gold color finish, shaped with a central crown at the top and ornate scrolling elements below; the crown has rounded arches with bead-like details and rests above a pair of rounded medallion shapes with textured, embossed surfaces. On either side of the medallions are symmetrical wing-like leaf flourishes and curled scrollwork, creating a balanced, baroque-style composition. The piece shows subtle variations in gold tone and a slightly reflective surface against a pale, neutral background that appears off-white to light gray.
