Leaf-shaped bowl, Wierbilki/near Moscow porcelain factory; est. 1766. Maker: Gardner, Francis porcelain manufactory; 1766–1917. Leaf-shaped bowl on a ring-shaped foot. Rims cut in the shape of leaves with a triangular rim; opposite side a handle in the form of a green stem with veining. At the bottom is a bouquet with a large purple-pink flower, surrounded by three small floral motifs. Reconstructed tip of the spout; abrasions of the glaze. Date: 1775–1800. Place: Wierbilki, Russia. Vessel; height 9.5 cm, width 12.0 cm., A shallow, irregularly edged white dish with a scalloped rim and a small green handle shaped like a stem, decorated with painted floral motifs including a central pink and purple flower with green leaves, smaller blue and orange flowers, and green brushstroke accents; the rim has a thin gold-colored trim and the dish sits on a reflective gray surface with a solid gray background.
