Amphora-type vase, Manises ceramic center; ca. 1400- author's role classification, pottery workshop author; mirrors decoration, birds, plant decorations. A slender, two-handled vase resembling a small amphora with a wide, long neck ending in a cup, and prominent, cylindrical, semicircular handles. The spherical body rests on a low spool foot. Painted with red mirror on a white background, with irregular patterns including a motif of exotic birds called pardalots and plant ornamentation. Horizontal trails with volute ornament on the neck. 17th century, Spain; Valencia; Manises. Vessel; height 26.5 cm, width 13.0 cm., An ornate vessel with a rounded body, a narrow neck flaring to a wide rim, and two curved handles rising from the shoulder to the neck, all decorated with carved or painted swirling and wave-like motifs; the surface shows a reflective, metallic sheen in deep reddish-brown and copper tones contrasted with lighter cream-colored areas where the decorative patterns appear, and there are small areas of wear and patina.
