A two-handled, ovoid pharmacy vase with a cylindrical neck, gently flaring at the rim. On the belly is a tubular spout, and on the sides are two handles in the form of fanciful dolphins dragons?. On the front is an oval cartouche with the inscription LIBERTAS framed by a massive laurel garland. The remaining background is grey and white, painted in two tones of cobalt, with a densely coiled twig with tripartite leaves and flowers a foglie. The decoration is dominated by cobalt blue in varying degrees of saturation, yellow, and green with accents of ochre and purple. Around the neck is a wavy twirl with birds. Below the handles is the letter B. The vase is an interesting example of Montelupo production, specializing in pharmacy vessels with leaf decoration inspired by Venetian ornamentation.
