Légende
Bed finial in the form of a pediment with volutes on the sides and a corbel in the middle supporting the bust of a young woman; fastened with two pins to the front section of the cornice crowning the canopy. The outline of the finial and the corbel are highlighted with a black ribbon stucco inlay. The corbel has an oval opening filled with a wooden, rotating medallion with inlaid letters on the obverse and reverse missing. The runners feature garlands made of ribbons and bay leaves; the volutes feature small brackets with turned, cup-shaped pinnacles. Female busts; baroque style. Made ca. 1757–1760, Warsaw. Makers: Jakub Fontana 1710–1773 designer, co-creator, Jan Chryzostom Redler 1704–1779 woodcarver, author. Furniture fragment; height 66 cm, width 93 cm, depth 16 cm., A dark wooden bust of a person turned to the side, showing a head with carved hair and a neck flowing into draped clothing; the surface has worn spots revealing lighter brown beneath the dark finish, and the piece rests on a wooden base. The visible colors are dark brown or black on the bust, lighter brown in worn areas, and medium brown on the base, all set against a neutral gray background.
