Box, Cuboid storage box 1840–1860, Central Europe with rounded edges on the long sides of the lid, veneered with rosewood. Fitted with engraved brass ribbons with cut-out edges forming strap hinges. At the top of the front wall of the body is a lock plate cut from brass sheet in a shape similar to a cross; a similar plaque is centered on the lid. Appliqués attached with spherical-head pins. Lid lined with glass on the inside. Mortice lock with one striker mounted in the lower rim of the lid. Plant decoration; geometric ornament. Height 12.6 cm, width 14.8 cm, depth 12 cm., A small wooden chest with a rounded lid sits against a light gray background; the chest is dark brown with visible wood grain and worn edges, and it features decorative metal straps and fittings in a brass tone with engraved patterns and a few silver-toned round rivets.
