Bookstand, origin likely Jerusalem Israel/Palestine, Hebrew inscription, 19th–20th century. Rectangular wooden bookstand with two foldable sides, decorated with three recessed Jerusalem crosses. Under the central cross is an ink Hebrew inscription: ??????? Yerushalayim. Main part has profiled edges and can be widened by sliding the central part in a groove to the right. Movable sides have a heart-shaped outline; when unfolded on brass hinges they sit almost vertically with a slight inclination and are decorated with crosses on the outer surface. Materials: hardware; dimensions: height 12.6 cm, width 37.3 cm, depth 2.9 cm., A wooden object with a long rectangular base and a pair of curved upright supports at each end is shown against a light gray background; the wood has warm brown tones with visible grain and a polished finish, and there are brass-colored metal fittings at the bases of the uprights; the base surface includes carved recessed shapes and a slightly raised edge, and the uprights have smooth rounded tops and darker brown streaks in the grain.
