Openwork basket. Faience and porcelain factory, Cmielów est. 1804. Openwork, basket with an oval cross-section similar to a mandorla with parted walls, formed by two layers of rollers rotating diagonally in two opposite directions. Top enclosed in a band of three rollers; bottom finished in a kind of braided rope. Interior bottom plastered with an oval plate. Surface decorated with a blue wallpaper pattern. Abrasions to the glaze and slight chipping on the edge of the walls. Dated 1840–1860. Poland. Cmielów. Vessel. Height 6.5 cm; length 30.5 cm; width 18.5 cm., A woven oval basket with an open lattice structure made of curved interlacing rods, featuring a patterned surface in white and blue with touches of light beige, containing a patterned cushion that matches the basket's white and blue color scheme; the background is a uniform light gray.
