Vase on base. Semi-ovoidal vase on a low pedestal base with sharply broken edges and tapering with a concave line. Vertical handles extend slightly beyond the vase width, raised high in the shape of fan-shaped fluted leaves. Made of faience and porcelain; blue print decoration in a wallpaper pattern. Shape based on Wedgwood's products see 1817 catalogue, pl.7, fig.146. Maker: Cmielów faience and porcelain factory; est. 1804. Date: 1840–1860. Place of origin: Poland. Function: vessel. Dimensions: height 16.0 cm, width 20.0 cm, depth 32.0 cm., A ceramic bowl and matching saucer sit against a plain light gray background, the bowl raised on a short pedestal and featuring a central vertical handle-like ridge; both pieces display a dense floral and foliate pattern in blue on a white base, with areas of the white showing subtle off-white or cream tones and small darker blue accents, and the overall scene includes shades of blue, white, cream, gray, and a touch of darker gray in the shadowing.
