Chest of drawers, Biedermeier style. Cherry, two-drawer cuboid chest on straight, tall, angular, tapering legs, polished. The body has a stand-alone structure with boarded sides and backs set in grooves; no bottom. Boarded drawer faces, recessed bottoms, with glued-on oak slides. Locks and handles of embossed brass sheet, rectangular with chamfered corners and an oval cabochon in the center; geometric cast brass pulls. Steel extruded single-bolt locks. 1820–1830, Southern Germany. Furniture storage, H 80.5 cm × W 87 cm × D 42.6 cm., A wooden chest of drawers with a warm honey-brown finish standing on tapered legs, featuring two large drawer fronts each fitted with several brass-colored oval handles and keyhole escutcheons, the wood grain visible across the top, sides, and drawer faces, and the piece set against a neutral gray background with soft shadows underneath; visible colors include brown, brass, gold, gray, and hints of darker brown in the wood grain.
