Backrest framed by straight stiles continuing the rear legs, topped by a board with a symmetrical wavy-cut outline highlighted by carved acanthus appliqués. Backrest filling has two straight stiles with astragalus, joined and topped with acanthus leaf arrangements, and a narrow lower stile arched between the stiles. Plant decoration: acanthus ornament; Louis Philippe style. Dated 1850–1860, Poland possibly Warsaw.
