Table with round tilting top on a shaft composed in the middle of three balusters, forked at the bottom into a tripod; inlaid with silver sheet. Sinuously curved legs on brass rollers, set in a cube with a wavy outline, supporting baluster columns, on which a similar cube with arcades at the bottom. Base veneered with rosewood and decorated with inlaid silver-sheet veins. Top veneered with mahogany on both sides, richly inlaid: a central enclosed plant twig with radiating veins defining a 12-pointed rosette, with oval medallions at the ends of the arms. Medallions filled with eagles with spread wings and, in every third case, a pair of antithetically positioned griffins, surrounded by plant ornament. Edge of the top decorated with acanthus leaves and palmettes. Top mounted on a square plate with a steel hinge not original, with a brass rotating two-armed latch. Empire / Biedermeier style; decorated with griffins, arabesque, palmettes, eagles, acanthus twig. Possibly Poland, c. 1835–1845. Furniture — table; height 72 cm, diameter 87.5 cm., A circular wooden surface with a dark brown grain and a glossy finish, divided into a radial pattern from a decorative central rosette with white inlaid floral motifs; a few thin white lines extend outward creating wedge-shaped segments, and each segment ends near the rim in an oval panel containing intricate white ornamental designs and stylized animal figures; the rim is bordered by a continuous band of white scrolling foliage and floral motifs; background visible around the circle is a light gray color.
