Double-sided gingerbread form. Obverse: male figure with a chalice in hand; reverse: baby in swaddling clothes. Rectangular shape; on one side an image of a male figure with a mustache and beard, wearing a patterned outfit of jacket and trousers, a high hat with a feather, holding a chalice in one hand and a baton, in the other, with a plant ornament at the figure's feet. The other side shows a baby in swaddling clothes, richly decorated with geometric and plant ornaments. Gingerbread form, applied/decorative folk art; folk motifs, plant ornaments. 18th–19th century, Silesia Province 1742–1918. Height 50 cm, width 19 cm, depth 4.5 cm., A tall rectangular wooden panel carved in a brown tone shows a full-length relief of a person wearing a hat with a feather, a patterned long-sleeved garment and patterned leggings; the figure holds a cup in one hand and a flat object in the other, and stands on a carved base with leaf-like motifs; the carving features repeating diagonal and chevron patterns and incised facial features, and the background is the same brown wood with some darker and lighter areas, set against a pale gray backdrop.
