Reverse: figure of Archangel Michael in a patterned robe decorated with a plant twig, holding scales in his right hand and a sword in his left, with a plant ornament at the bottom. Christianity; folk-style decorations. Applied decorative art; mould made for gingerbread. Rectangular shape. Silesia Province of Silesia, 1742–1918; 18th–19th century. Materials: unspecified. Dimensions: height 13.5 cm, width 6.5 cm, depth 4.5 cm., A rectangular wooden block with a carved fish in relief occupies the center of the image; the fish carving shows a head with a carved eye and mouth, a textured body of overlapping scale shapes, and a tail with carved fin lines. The wood surface displays a range of brown tones with visible grain and some darker brown patches and worn areas, and the background surrounding the block is a smooth pale gray.
