Double-sided gingerbread mould. Side A: figure of a soldier. Side B: various floral and geometric ornaments. Unknown author woodcarver or gingerbread maker. Folk-style decorations; woodcarving; gingerbread mould; applied and decorative art; folk motifs. Double-sided rectangular mould: one side shows a male figure in a Napoleonic-era military uniform, wearing high headgear with a feather, numerous chest decorations, and a plant ornament at the bottom. The other side displays a rich floral and plant ornament enclosed in a tripartite frame, with decorative spoked wheels in the four corners. One edge bears an engraved date 1810 with the letter S between the digits against the background of an anchor the maker's mark. Date: 1810. Place/region: Province of Silesia 1742–1918. Form. Dimensions: height 31.7 cm; width 12.5 cm; depth 2.4 cm., A rectangular wooden panel with a carved central design showing a curving, symmetrical ornamental motif flanked by circular wheel-like carvings at each end; the wood displays various shades of brown with darker carved recesses and lighter worn areas, and the background behind the panel is a solid gray.
