Double-sided gingerbread form. Obverse: female figure in a hat and long patterned dress. Reverse: baby in swaddling clothes richly decorated with geometric and plant ornament. Rectangular form; folk motifs and plant ornaments; decorative art. 18th–19th century, Province of Silesia 1742–1918. Height 23.5 cm; width 9.5 cm; depth 2.6 cm., A rectangular wooden block with a carved relief of a human figure wearing a long patterned skirt and decorative upper garment lies flat on a pale gray surface; the block shows natural wood tones, light brown and tan, with some darker brown spots and a few small holes, and the carved lines create shadows in darker brown-gray.
