Double-sided gingerbread mold. Obverse: baby in swaddling clothes richly decorated with various geometric and plant motifs. Reverse: two rectangular frames filled with geometric ornaments. 18th–19th century. Province of Silesia 1742–1918. Mold; height 40.5 cm, width 9.5 cm, depth 2.3 cm. Materials: gingerbread mold. Subjects: babies, geometric ornaments, plant ornaments, human figures, folk motifs, folk customs., A long rectangular wooden plank rests on a smooth light gray surface, carved along its top with an elongated recessed design depicting a stylized human face at one end and a patterned, lattice-like section toward the other end, connected by bands of repeating ornamentation; the wood shows natural tan and brown tones with areas of darker brown where the carvings and edges have aged, and there are a few small darker spots and scuffs on the plank.
