Double-sided gingerbread mold. Obverse: baby in swaddling clothes richly decorated with various geometric and plant motifs. Reverse: two rectangular frames filled with geometric ornaments. Double-sided rectangular mold, gingerbread; applied/decorative arts, folk motifs, folk customs; human figures, plant and geometric ornaments. 18th–19th century, Province of Silesia 1742–1918. Height 40.5 cm; width 9.5 cm; depth 2.3 cm., A vertical wooden plank carved in a light brown wood tone features a tall carved figure with a round head and simple facial features, a textured halo or hood around the head, a wrapped body decorated with diagonal patterned bands and repeated small diamond motifs, and a tied bow or knot shape near the lower section; the carving shows tool marks and small holes, and the background around the plank is a soft grey.
