Double-sided gingerbread form. Obverse: female figure in a long patterned dress with a neckline, wearing a helmet decorated with a plume, holding a sword in one hand and a roll of paper in the other; shoes on her feet; plant ornament at the bottom. Reverse: male figure in armor resembling a Roman legionary or Greek hoplite, wearing a similar plumed helmet, holding a shield bearing two crossed swords and a crown and a javelin in the other hand; a sword girded at his side; sandals on his feet; plant ornament at the bottom. Gingerbread; applied/decorative art; militaria; historical costumes. Double-sided rectangular form. 18th–19th century; Silesia Province 1742–1918. Height 59 cm, width 22 cm, depth 4.5 cm., A long narrow vertical wooden plank with a weathered brown surface centered against a smooth light gray background, showing a few small rectangular patches of slightly different brown tones and a couple of small labels attached to its upper and middle areas; the wood displays subtle grain variations and areas of darker wear near the edges.
