Double-sided gingerbread form. Obverse: male figure in a hussar uniform; reverse: fish. Double-sided rectangular form; one side: male figure with a moustache in a hussar uniform, wearing a fur-lined jacket, standing with legs slightly apart, leaning on a sabre held in his right hand, wearing a high shako topped with a two-headed eagle and tassel; plant ornament at the bottom. Other side: stylized elongated fish covered with scales, depicted in profile. Materials/genre: gingerbread form, applied art, decorative folk motifs. Subject motifs: soldiers, hussars, uniforms, sabres, historical costume, fish ornament. Date: 18th–19th century. Place: Province of Silesia 1742–1918. Dimensions: height 28.7 cm, width 11.7 cm, depth 3.5 cm., A single vertical rectangular block of wood suspended against a uniform light gray background, the wood showing a dark brown to almost black color with lighter brown worn edges and visible surface cracks and grain lines, the top and bottom edges slightly rounded and worn, and the overall surface appearing weathered and textured.
