Double-sided gingerbread mould. Obverse: figure of a lady with a fan in her hand; Reverse: figure of a man with a pipe in his hand. Gingerbread moulds, folk-style decorations, figurative scenes; hats headgear, male and female figures, pipes, feathers element of clothing. Double-sided rectangular form: obverse shows a female figure with headgear decorated with four large feathers, wearing a warm outer fur-lined coat over a richly decorated dress with a neckline, holding a fan; floral and plant ornament at the bottom. Reverse shows a man with a mustache, wearing a hat with a feather, in a long fur-lined coat over a patterned shirt, holding a long pipe; similar floral and plant ornament at the bottom. Applied/decorative art; gingerbread. 18th–19th century, Province of Silesia 1742–1918. Height 50.5 cm; width 19.2 cm; depth 4.5 cm., A rectangular wooden block with a carved recessed figure on its top surface, the wood showing various brown tones and natural grain; the carved figure area displays carved patterns and textures with darker brown shadows, and the block's edges and corners show slight wear and knotty spots; the background is a smooth light gray surface and a slightly darker gray backdrop.
