Double-sided gingerbread mold. Obverse: couple holding hands—a woman in a richly decorated long dress with a hat, and a man in a caftan with a short wig; both in 18th-century costume; plant-element decoration at the bottom. Reverse: three empty rectangles. Woodcarving; applied art; genre scene with female and male figures, couples in love, plant motifs. Rectangular. 18th–19th century, Province of Silesia 1742–1918. Height 20 cm, width 8.7 cm., A vertical rectangular wooden panel with a carved relief of two standing human figures close together, the carving showing a darker brown against a medium brown wood background; the figures wear long draped garments with decorative carved patterns and have rounded facial features and stylized hair or head coverings, one appearing slightly behind the other; the lower area shows a carved base with floral or foliage motifs and a bordered edge; the wood displays natural grain, small cracks, and areas of lighter and darker brown tones, set against a pale gray background.
