Double-sided gingerbread mould. Obverse: female figure in a long, patterned, richly decorated dress, wearing a hat decorated with an egret; Reverse: male figure with a fur hat, dressed in a fur-lined coat over a shirt with decorative embroidery, holding a long pipe. Plant decoration at the bottom of both figures. Woodcarving, folk-style decorations; gingerbread moulds; applied/decorative art; female and male figures; historical costumes; water pipes. 18th–19th century, Province of Silesia 1742–1918. Double-sided rectangular mould; height 19 cm, width 9 cm, depth 3.3 cm., A rectangular wooden block with rounded edges sits on a smooth grey surface. The block is brown with darker and lighter wood grain variations and worn areas. The top face of the block has a carved shallow fish figure with textured scales and a tail, appearing in the same brown tones as the block. The sides and ends show marks and uneven coloration in brown shades, and the block casts a soft shadow on the grey background. The visible colors are brown and grey.
