Double-sided gingerbread mould. Obverse: genre scene; reverse: three motifs. Double-sided rectangular mould made of Schwabach. Obverse depicts a man standing by a washtub washing, behind him a woman holding a baby in swaddling clothes; below a plaque with an inscription in German. Reverse: at bottom left, a rider in a hat on a horse; above him a rectangular recess containing a second rectangle with the letters I and B carved, surrounded by geometric and plant ornaments; on the right, a tripartite rectangular recess, each segment with a vertical strip of floral decoration; above it carved initials A and H. Genre scenes, babies, children, riders, floral and plant motifs; social satire and decorative/applied art associations. 18th–19th century; Province of Silesia 1742–1918. Form: double-sided mould. Dimensions: height 24.7 cm, width 16.8 cm, depth 4.2 cm., A narrow vertical rectangular wooden plank suspended against a smooth neutral background, showing a worn, dark brown surface with visible grain, scratches, small holes, and areas of lighter brown wear near the top and bottom edges; the background appears in shades of light gray.
