Double-sided gingerbread mould. Rectangular shape; obverse: man in 18th-century attire tricorn hat, justokor, culottes, long boots seated on a goat, carved inscription at the bottom: EIN SCHÖNER BOCK EIN GUTER / PFERD IST EINER GN ... DIE ZIGE WERT, with plant and floral ornament beneath; reverse: Adam and Eve in Paradise wearing leaf loincloths before the Tree of Knowledge with a coiled serpent; above them a bearded figure holding an orb probable God with sun, moon and stars in the heavenly vault; animals around Adam and Eve cat, deer, bird, cow, squirrel; composition within a round decorative frame with a plant twig motif. Gingerbread mould, wood. 18th–19th century, Silesia 1742–1918. Height 21.4 cm; width 24 cm; depth 3.7 cm. Subjects and motifs: animals, riders, folk-style decorations, Adam and Eve, plant and floral motifs, historical costumes, original sin, pomegranates, snake, religious motifs, decorative art, customs., A vertically oriented rectangular wooden object with worn, rough surfaces and visible grain and cracks; the wood shows brown and tan tones with darker brown areas and some lighter beige spots, set against a smooth light gray background.
