Double-sided gingerbread mould. Rectangular; obverse: male figure in 18th-century attire tricorn hat, justaucorps, culottes, long boots sitting on a goat, carved inscription at bottom: EIN SCHÖNER BOCK EIN GUTER / PFERD IST EINER GN ... DIE ZIGE WERT; complemented by plant and floral ornament at base. Reverse: Adam and Eve in Paradise, wearing leaf loincloths, Tree of Knowledge with coiled serpent; at top a bearded figure holding an orb probable God against a heavenly vault with sun, moon and stars; surrounding Adam and Eve are animals cat, deer, bird, cow and squirrel; composition enclosed in a round decorative frame decorated with a plant twig. Materials/function: gingerbread mould; style: folk-style decorations, floral and plant motifs, historical costumes, religious iconography original sin. Date: 18th–19th century. Place/region: Silesia Province 1742–1918. Dimensions: height 21.4 cm, width 24 cm, depth 3.7 cm., A long narrow vertical wooden plank suspended against a pale gray background, the plank showing a weathered brown surface with darker and lighter brown variations, visible cracks, small holes, and rough, chipped edges, with a rounded top and a more eroded, porous bottom, and a few areas of lighter tan where the wood appears worn.
