Gingerbread mold, double-sided. Obverse: image of a rider on a horse in a parade uniform from the Napoleonic era 1799β1815, wearing a bicorn, caftan with epaulettes decorated with braiding, an order on the chest, striped trousers and long boots; horse with decorative geometric motif; bottom decoration of leaves and flowers. Reverse: small image of a beehive. Rectangular wooden mold, edge carved with the letters CG Gl. initials. 18thβ19th century, Province of Silesia 1742β1918. Height 51.5 cm, width 25.5 cm, depth 5 cm. Possible maker: woodcarver or gingerbread maker; subjects include Napoleonic soldiers, riders, floral decorations, historical military costume; decorative/applied art., A vertical rectangular carved panel showing a figure wearing a tall hat and ornate clothing seated on a horse; the carving is in shades of brown with darker incised lines forming details. The rider has a visible face with carved eyes, nose, and mouth and textured hair or headgear, and the coat features decorative fringes and radial motifs. The horse shows a bridle and braided mane, and the saddle and blanket display patterned borders and scalloped edges. Below the horse are carved plant forms with elongated leaves and a floral motif, and a patterned border runs along the bottom edge. The surface shows variations in brown tones and some polished and worn areas, with fine linear carving throughout.
