Fan, Fan painted from carved ivory. Feathers decorated with gold and silver metal foil and sequins. Cover feathers with openwork decoration featuring a motif of ovals, shells, and floral sprigs. The right side of the cover is painted in gouache with a pastoral scene in a park landscape, rendered in whitened colors with dominant blues sky/background and pinks architectural elements and figures' clothing. The left side of the cover shows a landscape with mountains in the background. The scenes are framed by a delicate gold-painted Rococo ornament. Pastoral scenes, landscapes, plant ornaments; fashion accessory. 2nd half of the 19th century; possibly 18th century; France/Europe. Height 27 cm. Provenance unknown., A decorative hand fan with a painted landscape on its leaf, showing a horizon with a pale blue sky fading to a light creamy tone above a muted green and brown foreground, featuring a few trees and shrubs with green and reddish foliage and small clusters of flowers, framed by a decorative border with pink and blue floral motifs; the fan's sticks are a light ivory color with delicate cutout patterns and a small metal rivet at the pivot, and one end of the guard has gold and blue ornamental detailing.
