Flat women's slippers of white satin. Flat-cut toe, symmetrical soles of thin leather. The endpaper and back of the lining are made of white glacé leather, while the front is made of white canvas. On the endpaper there is an octagonal, elongated company label printed in green with the inscription: Józef Marczewski / in Warsaw / at Dluga Street / No. 543. Maker: Józef Marczewski, shoemaker's workshop; ca. 1830–ca. 1840; dated 1836, Warsaw. Function: women's footwear slippers. Dimensions: height 5.2 cm, length 23.5 cm. Materials: white satin, thin leather soles, glacé leather lining, canvas front. Style: fashion accessory., A pair of small, worn fabric shoes sits on a flat, light gray surface; the shoes are made of frayed, off-white and beige cloth with visible stitches and loose threads, showing uneven edges and patches, and each shoe has a slightly darker, tan-colored sole with scuffed areas; the left shoe appears more crumpled with a loose strip of fabric, while the right shoe looks a bit more intact though creased, all set against a uniform pale gray background.
