Flat women's slippers of white satin, top edge finished with ribbon. Flat-cut toes, symmetrical leather soles. Endpaper and back lining of white leather, front lining of canvas. On the endpaper of both slippers there is an octagonal, oblong company label: Jan Kólazenski / in Kalisz / at Market Square No. 18. Maker: Jan Kólazenski, Kalisz; shoemaker's workshop; ca. 1830–1850. Women's footwear, clothing accessory; height 6 cm, length 23.7 cm., A pair of small fabric items sit side by side on a flat surface, each appearing soft and slightly collapsed with wrinkled, worn cloth that has frayed edges; the fabric shows shades of off-white, beige, and light tan with some darker smudges, and each item rests on a low, rounded base that is brown; the background and surface are a uniform light gray.
