Flat women's slippers of white satin, top edge finished with ribbon. Flat-cut toes, symmetrical leather soles. Endpaper and back lining of white leather, front lining of canvas. On the endpaper of both slippers there is an octagonal, oblong company label: Jan Kólazenski / in Kalisz / at Market Square No. 18. Maker: Jan Kólazenski, Kalisz; shoemaker's workshop; ca. 1830–ca. 1850. Function: women's footwear, clothing accessory. Dimensions: height 6 cm; length 23.7 cm., A pair of worn slip-on shoes sit side by side on a flat surface, each showing a soft, creased upper with frayed edges and a visible inner lining; the shoes are primarily light beige to off-white with darker beige and brown areas on the soles and toe regions, and the background is a uniform light gray.
