Kontusz belt, 18th century. Semi-solid, double-sided men's clothing accessory kontusz belt with floral ornaments and Vinca edging; gold fringe. Colors: red, green, and gold. Design: transverse stripes—green with rosettes and plain red with floral projections. Length 275 cm; width 26 cm. /place of origin., The image shows two long narrow woven fabric panels hanging vertically side by side against a light background. Each panel has a decorative border in pink with floral motifs and alternating horizontal bands of green and a pale beige or deep pink field with small repeating floral or geometric motifs. The left panel primarily features pale beige fields between green bands with pink borders, while the right panel primarily features deep pink fields between green bands with similar pink borders. Both panels show areas of wear and irregularities in the weave, with a few darker spots and slight fraying along seams. The bottom edges of both panels end in long silvery-grey fringe tassels. Visible colors include pink, green, beige, silvery-grey, and small darker accents.
