Kontusz sash, Bipartite heads with the pattern of flower bouquets on a vase-base, alternating transverse stripes with an ornament of floral tendrils and dots. Ribbon made of waxflower. Colors: brown, blue, red, green, and ochre. Signed at the bottom in the heads: FS lying. Late 18th century, Kraków. National costume accessory. Length 370 cm, width 35 cm. Materials/ornament: flower bouquets, flower bushes, szelagki, geometric and plant ornaments; four-sided sash; men's clothing accessory; Polish sash kontusz sash., Two long narrow fabric panels hang side by side with fringed bottoms in a gold-yellow color. The left panel shows horizontal bands of patterned stripes in pale green, soft pink, and cream, separated by thin floral vine motifs; a border with small floral and bird motifs runs along its edges. Near the lower portion of the left panel are stylized floral bouquets in muted blue, pink, green, and cream above a small floral border. The right panel has a similar striped layout but appears more faded, with horizontal bands in pale blue, tan, and muted brown-olive, overlaid with floral and vine patterns in faded pink, blue, and green; its surface shows areas of uneven wear and darker patches. Both panels display fine woven texture and subtle color variations in gold, green, pink, blue, tan, cream, and brown.
