Divided into columns with sewn-on silver braid; edges trimmed with the same braid. 18th century, France. Length 101 cm, width 63 cm back., A single elongated garment-like textile displayed flat against a pale background, with a rounded bottom edge and a V-shaped notch at the top; the fabric appears worn and slightly wrinkled, showing a muted golden-brown base with lighter golden and pale beige woven decorative motifs and vertical bands; narrow pale trim runs along the outer edges and down the length in a few parallel lines, and the surface shows subtle variations in sheen and texture with some small areas of wear and fraying.
